NFC lets a phone read a small chip from a few centimetres away. When someone taps a compatible phone near your Card2Tap NFC product, your profile opens in their browser. On an iPhone, hold the card near the top of the phone; on Android, hold it against the back with NFC switched on.

Yes. In NFC Products, choose another of your profiles under Profile it opens and select Change profile. To give the card to someone else, use Transfer ownership: they accept it in their own Card2Tap account. Team Owners and Admins can reassign Team cards to another member. The card keeps its own permanent NFC link, so no reprogramming is needed — but anything printed on it stays the same.

  • Check that your profile is published and opens from its link.
  • Make sure the phone supports NFC and, on Android, that NFC is switched on.
  • Hold the card near the top of an iPhone, or against the back of an Android phone, for a second or two; remove a thick or metal case.
  • In NFC Products, select Test My NFC Link on the card: it shows whether a tap works right now and what it opens.

The card is linked to your account when your payment is confirmed. Give it to them with Transfer ownership in My Card2Tap → NFC Products: enter the email address of their Card2Tap account and confirm with your password. They accept while signed in with that email within 7 days, then choose which of their profiles it opens. Until then, it stays yours.

A product you buy online in your Card2Tap account is connected automatically when your payment is confirmed — nothing to do. A product you received another way (a gift, an event, your company, a spare) you activate yourself:

  1. Tap it with your phone, scan the setup QR code in the packaging, or go to card2tap.com/a/ and enter the setup code (C2T-XXXX-XXXX).
  2. Sign in, or create a free account.
  3. Confirm it’s yours with the setup code.
  4. Choose which of your profiles it opens, or create a new one, tick the box and select Activate.

A setup code works once and expires after a set time. Lost or expired? Contact Card2Tap Support online. Team products are assigned by the Team’s owner or admins instead.

In My Card2Tap → NFC Products, select Report lost or stolen on the product. From then on a tap shows a neutral “unavailable” page with nothing about you. Found it? Select Switch back on. For a replacement, contact Card2Tap Support online: we make a new product with a new link that opens the same profile, and the old one stops working for good.

Yes, at any time. Your card holds its own permanent NFC link, so profile changes show as soon as you save — you never need to reprogram the card. What is printed on a physical product (names, logo, artwork) does not change.

Only once you publish it — drafts stay private. A published profile can be seen by anyone with your profile link, QR code, NFC product or Wallet pass, so publish only what you are comfortable sharing. While you have an active plan you can unpublish it in My Card2Tap; without one, ask us and we will do it. See our Privacy Policy.

The front side is fully customizable. The back uses Card2Tap’s standard QR design so your card remains consistent and ready to connect to your digital profile.

This applies to the PVC, Metal and Wooden NFC Cards. You see the back in the preview and on your proof, and Card2Tap prints your card’s own QR code on it.
